Norwegen

Nach 12,5 Stunden Flug und 1,5 Stunden Zugfahrt bin ich wieder zu Hause in Würzburg angekommen. Wie ihr sehen konntet hatte ich einen wunderbaren Urlaub. Es hat mich sehr gefreut, dass so viele mich "virtuell" begleitet haben Vielen Dank für Euer Interesse und die Kommentare. 

After 12,5 hours flight and 1,5 hours train I´m now back home in Würzburg. As you could see I really had wonderful holidays. I really appreciated that so many poeple were interested in my journey. Thank a lot for your interest  and comments.

In Hongkong gibt es diverse Marktstrassen und Märkte. Einige davon habe ich heute besucht. Es gibt tatsächlich einen Goldfischmarkt. Bei dem es neben Goldfischen auch Katzen, Hunde, Schildkröten usw. gibt.

In Hongkong there are a lot of different markets. Some of them I visited today. There in fact is a goldfish market. Beside goldfishs you can buy cats, dogs, turtles ....

Die Vögel gibt es dann allerdings auf dem Vogelmarkt. The birds you get at the special bird market.

Blumen auf dem in der Blumenmarktstraße. Obstmarkt, Gemüsemarkt, Fischmarkt und den Jademarkt habe ich noch besucht. Flowers at the Flowermarket road. I also visited fruitmarket, vegetablemarket, fishmarket and jademarket.

Zum Schluß war ich dann noch im Tin Hau Tempel. Das was wie Lampenschirme aussieht, sind Glocken mit Weihrauchstäben zum anzünden. At the end at Tin Hau temple.

Nachdem ich am Hongkonger Innenstadt Bahnhof mein Gepäck eingecheckt hatte (hat ja beim letzten Mal auch gut funktioniert), bin ich zum ICC Tower gefahren und hab mir den Ausblick vom Observation Deck aus dem 100 Stock (393 m) gegönnt. Danach noch ein Bild auf einige Hochhäuser als ich wieder unten war (von oben sehen sie so klein aus). Ein Long Island Ice Tea in einer Bar noch als Absacker und dann ab zum Flughafen.

Beim 8 Stunden Flug von Perth nach Hongkong hatte ich das Glück, dass ich von Premium Economy zu Business Class upgegraded wurde. Bei der Business Class hat man wesentlich mehr Platz und kann den Sitz so verstellen, dass man komplett liegen kann :-).

I was very lucky to get an upgrade from premium economy to business class at the 8 hour flight from Perth to Hongkong. At business class you really have a lot more space and the seat can be adjusted that you can actually lie down.

Nach 7 Wochen in den wenig bevölkerten Landstrichen in Neuseeland und Australien, fallen einem die Masse der Menschen und die extrem hohen Hochhäuser noch mehr auf.

After 7 weeks in less populated areas of New Zealand and Australia you really recognize how crowded Hongkong ist and how high the Skyscaper are.

Ich habe heute eine der Inseln um Hongkong besucht. Nach Lantau bin ich mit der Fähre gefahren und dann mit dem Bus zum großen Budda mit Buddistenkloster.

I did a tour to Lantau island. By ferry and than bus to the big budda. There is also a monastery with buddistic monks.

Mit einer Seilbahn dann zurück in die Stadt wo ich noch einige Shoppingmeilen unsicher gemacht habe. Back by cable car and than walking through some shopping malls.

Ein bißchen durch die Einkaufstraßen der Innenstadt schlendern, mit den Bussen zu Parks und einigen Sehenswürdigkeiten fahren.

Noch ein paar nette Häuser sowie der Perth Weihnachtsmarkt und das wars dann. In ein paar Stunden fliege ich nach Hongkong. In Australien habe ich 2200 KM mit dem Auto, 2100 mit dem Flugzeug und 1300 mit dem Bus zurückgelegt.

A few nice house, the Perth christmas market and that is it. In a few hours I´m going to fly to Hongkong. In Australia I did 2200 Km by car, 2100 by plane and 1300 by bus.

Fremantle ist eine sehr hübsche Stadt mit ca. 30 Tausend Einwohnern ca. 30 Minuten mit dem Zug von Perth entfernt. Hier ist auch der Hafen von Perth. Es gibt am Wochenende auch einen Markt mit allem möglichen.

Fremantle is a very pretty town with about 30 thousand inhabitants 30 min by train from Perth. The port of Perth is located in Fremantle. At weekend is also a market there.

Es gibt auch Strände und einen kleinen Leuchtturm. There are as well beaches and a small lighthouse.

Als ich um 10 Uhr in Perth losfuhr waren es bereits 32 Grad, in Fremantle war es etwas kühler (30 Grad). Daher habe ich mich entschieden mir eine Abkühlung zu gönnen und eine Fahrt mit einem Jet Boot gemacht. Mit 75 KM/h durch das Meer zu düsen hat riesigen Spass gemacht, allerdings war ich dannach auch tropfnaß, was aber bei den Temperaturen eher positiv zu bewerten war.

As I started in Perth at 10 am it already had 31 degrees, in Fremantle it was a bit cooler (30 degrees). Therefore I decided to cool down and have a ride with a jet boat. It really was a awful lot of fun to go with 75 km/h on the ocean, even if I was dripping wet after this. But with this temperature this was even a positive thing.

Mit dem Schiff den den Swan River rauf zurück nach Perth. With a cruise up the swan river back to Perth.

Im Stadtteil Northbridge zu Abend gegessen, dabei bin ich an einem Open Air Kino vorbeigekommen. Dinner at Northbridge. There I passed a open air cinema.

Bustour von Perth nach Margaret River, wieder einem sehr bekannten Weinanbaugebiet. Erster Stop Busselton, wo es die längste Holzlandebrücke der Welt (ca. 2 KM) zu sehen gibt. Es gibt sogar einen kleine Bahn, die bis zum Ende des Stegs fährt.

Bierprobe und Mittagessen in der Bootleg Brauerei, danach Weinprobe bei der Sandalford Weinkellerei. Auf dem T-Shirt steht: Bier ist nicht die Antwort, Bier ist die Frage, die Antwort ist ja.  Beer tasting and lunch at Bootleg brewery, afterwards wine tasting at Sandalfords Winery.

Bus Ausflug zu den Pinnacels ca. 250 Km nördlich von Perth. Zunächst im Caversham Wildlife Park Fotoshooting mit diversen Tieren (Kanguruh, Wombat, Koala).

Bus Tour to pinnacles (around 250 Km north of Perth). First stop at Caversham Wildlife park for a fotoshooting with animals (kangaroo, Wombat, Koala).

Nächster Stop in einer Langusten Fabrik. Next stop a lobster factory.

Dann die Pinnacles. Tausende mehr oder weniger spitz zulaufende Kalksteine verschiedener Grösse im Wüstensand. Than the pinnacles. Thousands of more or less spiky limestone of different sizes in the sand.

Dann noch eine Runde mit dem 4 Rad angetriebenen Bus durch die Sanddünen von Lancelin. Das Sandboarden hab ich mir diesmal gespart (hab ich ja schon am 90 Miles Beach gemacht). War auch mit einem anderen Sandboard und sah nicht so interessant aus. Da hab ich lieber 2 Fahrten mit dem Bus gemacht, das hat wirklich Spaß gemacht.

Driving with the 4 WD Bus in the sanddunes of Lancelin. I skiped the sandboarding (I did already at the 90 mile beach). The Board where different here and looking at the poeple it did not look so much fun as to drive with the bus. Therefore I did the bus 2 times.

Hab mir dann noch ein wenig die zur Weihnachtszeit mit bunten Bildern angestrahlte Fassade des Postgebäudes angesehen. Finally I had a look at the christmas lightshow at the fassade of the General Post office.

Um 11 Uhr gab es eine kostenlose Stadtführung an der ich teilgenommen habe. Und erstaunlicherweise war ich die einzige Teilnehmerin und hatte also den Führer ganz für mich allein. Im Moment ist in Perth die "Kuh Parade", von einheimischen Künstlern gestaltete Kühe, insgesamt 49 Stück verstreut über die Innenstadt, hier eine kleine Auswahl.

At 11 am I joined a free guided City tour. Astonishingly I was the only person on the tour and I had the guide for 1,5 hours for me alone showing me around. At the moment there is cow parade in Perth. Cows created by local artist. 49 cows on several places of CBD, see some examples.

Dann war ich im Kings Park, der größer als der Central Park in New York ist, sehr schöne Ausblicke auf die Stadt bietet und auch einen botanischen Garten hat.

Than I was in Kings Park, which is bigger than Central Park in New York. You have very nice lookouts to the city and there is a botanic garden.

Und noch ein paar Bilder der Stadt, die übrigens die 4 windigste der Welt (nach Wellington, Buenos Aires und Chicago) ist. Das mit dem Wind ist aber auch gut so, das es hier meist auch recht warm ist. Heute nur 25 Grad aber die nächsten Tage soll es 37 Grad werden.

A few pictures of the city, which by the way is the 4th windiest city worldwide (after Wellington, Buenos Aires and Chicago). It is pretty good that the wind is there because most of the time it is pretty warm here. Today it was "only" 25 degrees, but the next day it should get up to 37 degrees.

Heute Mittag 3,5 Stunden von Adelaide nach Perth geflogen, allerdings aufgrund der Zeitverschiebung zwischen den beiden Städten Ortszeit nur eine Stunde nach Abflug angekommen. Bin jetzt nur noch 7 Stunden der deutschen Zeit voraus. Habe heute nur noch einen kurzen Eindruck von Perth gewonnen.

At Lunchtime 3,5 hours flight from Adelaide to Perth. Because of the time difference I landed local time just 1 hour after departing. It is now 7 hours in front of german time. I only had the chance for a short look to downtown Perth.

Diesmal ist mein Quartier in einem Hochhaus im 6. Stock in der Innenstadt. In der gesamten Innenstadt sind die Busse wieder kostenlos. Übrigens interessant finde ich in ganz Australien, dass sich ca. 90% der Fahrgäste beim Aussteigen beim Busfahrer bedanken. Noch eine andere interessante Sache betrifft die Müllabfuhr. Bei Abholung der Recycling Tonnen wird die Mülltonne nicht von Menschen, sondern von Greifern angehoben und in den Wagen entleert. Wohingegen bei einspurigen Baustellen statt Ampeln zu 90% Menschen mit Walkie Talkies den Verkehr regeln. Heute musst ich das erste Mal meinen Einkauf an einer Self service Kasse (wie bei IKEA) abwicklen, weil es keine Kasse mit Personal im Supermarkt gab. MAn sieht andere Länder andere Sitten.

This time I stay in a accomodation in downtown on the 6th floor. Downtown are all busses for free. Interesting all over Australia so far was for me that around 90% of bus passengers say thank you to the bus driver when leaving the bus. Another interesting thing  I notices is concerning the recycing garbage collection. The garbage containers not liftet by persons into the garbage truck but by picker arms. On the other hand are at one lane street construction not lights but persons with walkie talkies handling the traffic. Today I first time in life had to practice self service at the cashier of the grocery store because there was no cashier with a person. You see things are handled differently than at home.    

Auf dem Weg zum Barossa Valley, einem sehr bekannten Weinanbaugebiet, ein kurzer Abstecher zur Whispering Wall (Flüsternde Wand). Das ist ein Staudamm, der das interessante akustische Phänomen aufweist, dass man auf der einen Seite des Damm die Worte von der anderen Seite deutlich versteht.

On the way to Barossa Valley, a well known vine area, a short detour to Whispering Wall. A dam which has the acustic phenomenon that you can hear every word spoken on the other side of the dam.

 Auffallend im Barossa Valley sind die vielen Rosen in Vorgärten oder auch am Straßenrand. Die Rosen/Baumreihe, die ich photographiert habe, war ziemlich genau 3 KM lang.

I recognised a lot of roses in Barossa Valley in gardens but as well just by the street. The roses with trees I did a picture of was 3 KM long.

Es gibt viele sehr schöne Weingüter, bei denen man Weinverkostungen durchführen kann. Ich bin bei Seppeltsfield und Jacob Creek eingekehrt. There are really a lot of beautiful wine producers and you can do tastings. I tried Seppeltsfield and Jacob Creek.

In Adelaide habe ich nochmal in einer sehr schönen Wohngegend in North Adelaide und am Henley Strand vorbeigeschaut, bevor mich in meiner Unterkunft ein wunderbarer Sonnenuntergang erwartet hat. In Adelaide I had another look at the houses in North Adelaide and went to Henley Beach before I came to my accomation at a awesome sunset..

Ich mag Adelaide. Eine überschaubare Stadt mit einer sehr schönen Fußgängerzone und etlichen alten Gebäuden. Auffallend für mich sind insbesondere die lila Bäume, die es hier jede Menge gibt. Als ich in die Innenstadt kam hat es geregnet (aber es waren 25 Grad also nicht so schlimm) und nachdem ich einen kostenlosen Parkplatz ergattert hatte war das erste an dem ich vorbeikam das Festival Center in dem Singing in the rain gespielt wird. Da dachte ich mir das paßt ja. Ich hab dann die Stadt erkundet.

I really like Adelaide. A city with a very nice mall and a lot of old buildings. Interesting for me are the violett trees which you find almost everywhere. When I came downtown it was raining (but it had 25 degrees therefore it was not too hard) the first place I stepped by (after getting a parking lot for free) was the festival center where the played singing in the rain. And I thought that fits. I than had a look at the city.

Als ich dann auf dem Rückweg zum Auto wieder am Festival Center vorbeikam, dachte ich mir frag doch einfach ob noch Karten für Singing in the rain für heute Abend verfügbar sind. Und tatsächlich hab ich dann eine Karte zum Sonderpreis von 78 $ (circa 55 €) für die Abendvorstellung gekauft. Ich muss wirklich sagen es war das Geld wert. Ein tolle Vorstellung.Nach der Show noch ein Foto von Adelaide bei Nacht.  On the way back to my car I passed the festival center and I thought about asking if there would be tickets available for this evening. And than I bought a ticket for the special price of 78 $ in middle of the 6th row. I really have to admit it was worth the money. A awesome show After the show one photo of Adelaide at night..

Gerade Straße, Getreidefelder ohne interessante Punkte zum Anhalten für ca. 450 KM, ca 50 KM vor Adelaide wurde es dann etwas hügelig und ein wenig grüner. Von einer Nachbarin im Motel wurde mir Hahndorf als nettes historisches Dorf zum Ansehen empfohlen. Von deutschen gegründet wie der Name vermuten läßt, glaubt der Australier das wäre ein wenig wie Deutschland. Zumindest heitß eine Gaststätte Hofbräuhaus.

Straigth street, crop fields no interesting points to stop for 450 KM. About 50 Km before Adelaide it startet to get a bit more hilly an greener. A neigbar at the motel recommended to stop at Hahndorf a nice historical village. It was founded by germans, I assume australians believe this it was Germany looks like. At least a restaurant is named Hofbräuhaus.

Und jetzt hab ich es doch noch geschafft Photos von Kanguruhs zu machen. Man muss halt nur die Einheimischen fragen, wo man am besten hingeht.

Heute habe ich eine 5 Km Wanderung auf den Pinnacle gemacht. Zunächst kommt man dabei durch den Grand Canyon der Grampians.

Today I walked 5 Km up to the Pinnacle. First you have to pass the Grand Canyon of the grampians.

Die Silent Street mit z.T. sehr engen Durchgängen muss durchquert werden. You have to walk through Silent Street.

Und nach 314 Höhenmetern ist man dann glücklich und erschöpft oben angekommen, um den grandiosen Ausblick zu genießen. And after 314 m high climbing you are happy and exhausted at the top enjoying the fantastic view.

Dann musste ich aber wieder nach unten. Und das war gar nicht so einfach über all die Felsen und Spalten (bergauf war das nicht so problematisch). Aber zum Schluß hab ich es ja heil geschaftt. Uffz. Than I had to go down. Which was not as easy as I thought to go down at all the rocks (uphill this was not so bad as down). But I finally made it without any harm.

Jede Menge schöne Ausblicke über Landschaft und Berge sowie 2 Wasserfälle. A lot of nice views over landscape and mountains additional two waterfalls.

Leider immer noch keine Photos von Kanguruhs. Auch wenn ich beinahe eins überfahren habe, ich konnte gerade noch bremsen.... Sorry no photos of kangaroos. Even if it was close to bump into one with the car. But the brakes of the car worked pretty well...

Ach ja was ich noch erzählen wollte. Das Food Marketing funktioniert hier anders. Die Lebensmittel sind zu x% frei von Zucker oder Fett. Also 1,5% Milch ist zu 98,5% fettfrei oder ich habe eben ein Bier getrunken, das 99,9% zuckerfrei ist (ich frag mich warum da überhaupt Zucker drin ist...). Food marketing is telling a different story here. The food is to x% free of e.g. sugar or fat. Means a 1,5% milk is labled as 98,5 % fätfree or I was drinking a beer which was 99,9% sugarfree (I wonder why there is at all sugar in it...).
